WS & Salinero Ltd. (the Data Controller, "we") explains here how we handle personal data on salinero.cy and when you contact us about a puppy. We process personal data in line with Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the law of the Republic of Cyprus.

In short: we use what you tell us to answer your enquiry and, if you buy a puppy, to complete the sale. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising, and we delete enquiry data 12 months after our last contact with you unless you have bought a puppy from us.

2. Enquiries and the availability list

When you fill in the form on our availability page, we receive:

your name;
your phone number and/or email address;
the breed you are interested in, and when you would like a puppy;
your optional preferences (sex, colour, pedigree) and any message you write;
the language of the page you used.

Purpose: to contact you when a suitable puppy is confirmed, and to answer your questions before a purchase.

Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.

What happens to the data:

It is saved in a file on our web server, in a private folder that cannot be reached from the internet.
It is added to the spreadsheet in which we keep the waiting list (Google Sheets).
It is emailed to us.
A short notification with your name, phone number, the breed and your timing is sent to our phone through the Pushover service, so that we can reply quickly.
If you gave an email address, we send you an automatic confirmation that we received your request.

To stop automated spam, the form keeps a one-way hash of your IP address for one hour. The hash cannot be turned back into the address.

3. Contact form, WhatsApp, phone and email

If you use the contact form, the name, email address, phone number and message you enter are emailed to us. If you write to us on WhatsApp, call us or email us, we receive your number or address and what you tell us. WhatsApp messages are handled through WhatsApp, which is operated by WhatsApp Ireland Limited under its own privacy policy.

We use this information only to reply to you and to arrange a purchase you ask for. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

4. If you buy a puppy

For a reservation and a purchase we need your name, contact details and address, the details of the puppy, and records of your payments. We use these to confirm the reservation in writing, issue receipts and invoices, prepare the puppy's travel documents and arrange the handover.

The legal bases are the performance of the sale contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legal obligations under Cyprus tax, accounting and animal-movement rules (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).

5. Cookies and browser storage

We keep this to a minimum:

Your cookie choice. When you click "Accept" or "Decline" in the banner, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage, so that we do not ask again. It is not sent to us.
Session cookie. After you submit a form, a session cookie lets us show you the confirmation message. It is deleted when you close your browser.
Analytics cookies. These are placed only if you click "Accept"; see section 6.

We use no advertising cookies. The language of the site comes from the web address (/, /ru/ or /el/), not from a cookie.

You can delete cookies and stored data at any time in your browser settings. To change your choice, clear the stored data for salinero.cy and the banner will appear again. For help, see aboutcookies.org.

6. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-L4NTTS022Q) to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are read most and which devices people use. We run no advertising and use no Google Ads tracking.

Analytics is off until you click "Accept" in the cookie banner. We use Google Consent Mode v2: accepting allows analytics storage only, and every advertising signal stays denied. If you decline, no analytics cookies are placed.

Once you accept, Google Analytics processes a client identifier and your IP address, which are personal data. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time as described in section 5. Google acts as our processor. Analytics data is kept for 14 months, and the period restarts if you visit again.

You can also block Google Analytics in any browser with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

7. Contact details of business partners

When we work with partners, suppliers and breeders, we process the names, phone numbers and email addresses of their contact persons.

Purpose: communication and cooperation with our business partners.

Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in running the business.

Retention: until 30 June of the calendar year after the cooperation ends.

8. Who receives your data

Inside our company, only the people who handle enquiries and sales see your data. We share it with these service providers, and only as far as their service needs it:

Paper Dog (Hungary) Kft. (Hungary, EU), our hosting provider, on servers run by Tárhely.Eu Kft. (Hungary, EU): hosting of the website, the server where enquiries are saved, and our email.
Google: Google Analytics, if you accept analytics, and Google Sheets, where we keep the waiting list.
Pushover, operated by Superblock, LLC (USA): delivers the notification of a new enquiry to our phone.
WhatsApp, if you contact us there.
Veterinary and transport authorities, if you buy a puppy: the details the law requires for its EU pet passport and travel documents.

We do not sell your data or give it to anyone for their own marketing.

9. Transfers outside the EU

Google and Pushover are based in the United States, so some data may be transferred there. For Google, transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The Pushover notification contains only what we need to reply to you, and we send it because you asked us to contact you (Article 49(1)(b) GDPR).

10. How long we keep your data

Enquiries (availability list, contact form, WhatsApp, phone and email): 12 months after our last contact with you. After that we delete them from our server, the waiting-list spreadsheet, our mailbox and our phones. If you want to stay on the waiting list for longer, just tell us.
Purchases (reservation, sale agreement, receipts, invoices): as long as Cyprus tax and accounting law requires.
Spam protection: the IP hash is kept for one hour.
Session cookie: until you close your browser.
Analytics: 14 months, as described in section 6.
Business partners: as described in section 7.

You can ask us to delete your enquiry earlier at any time.

11. Security

The website is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Enquiries are saved in a private folder on the server that the website does not serve, and only we can open them. Access to our accounts with the service providers above is limited to the people who need it.

12. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

access the personal data we hold about you;
have inaccurate data corrected;
have your data erased ("right to be forgotten");
restrict or object to our processing of your data;
data portability;
withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what was done before;
lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Cyprus this is the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection.

To use any of these rights, write to us at the address in section 13. We reply within one month.
